I Love to Write!

As I write this, I am cuddled up in the bed with my favorite bookstore ambiance music playing softly. It is a cold, wintery night. Thirty degrees may seem unbearable to some…To me, it’s beautiful. Tonight, all I can think about is how much I wanted to step outside to inhale the cold air and exhale my worries. I took some time off from writing during January to imagine what I wanted for myself, my family, and my career. I love to write. After taking a short break, I realized I missed picking up my pen and putting my words on paper. This time off was just what I needed. It is all crystal clear to me. I decided to step out on faith and put my thoughts on my own platform for you to read!

I am a writer! It used to feel weird to say that. Now, I embrace it!

I Write for Life

Why I decided to write more

“I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn.” -Anne Frank

My vision for the blog

For the past two years, my work has been published for all to read. It has mainly been on one platform. During this time, I attended classes with other writers and read books. I saw the growth. Love, you have shared with me that you have witnessed the growth! Thanks to you, I have become more confident in my work and want to write for myself!

Before launching Patrice Shawntia, I would get messages from friends, family, and strangers about my work. You wanted one location for it all. It was often suggested to me by other writers that I should start my own blog. I sat on it for a year! All sorts of nerves and doubt crept in. I was so intimidated. Am I the only one who starts to doubt myself when starting something new?

There are so many brilliant writers in the blogging world. A tip that was repeatedly shared with me is, “There is enough space for you.” It was difficult for me to accept. The more I thought about it, the more I realized I am me. I am special. You, dear reader, should feel the same way about yourself. I had to shift my mindset. There is enough room for me in this blogging world. My story is just that. My story!

Why I decided to write more

I Choose Quality over Quantity

I want to share my words with you. It is not about the number of articles I can write and publish. It is about the quality. I desire to write pieces that are near and dear to my heart. My hope is you will continue to enjoy my words. I want to inspire you however that may be! I would love for you to join me as I write about the things and people that inspire and encourage joy and kindness. As I continue to grow and learn more about the world of writing, I hope to share some of my favorite inspiring authors, artists, and friends.

  1. Hello, hope*writer friend!

So much of what you’ve written here resonates with me. The love for writing and how it changes the writer, the blogging fears, the year of thinking about it before overcoming the nerves and doubts enough to create a place where people can read the words you write to inspire and encourage joy and kindness…

And you’re off to a good, brave start!
